 it's not very often that i wear color.
when i do, it's usually combined with some extravagant pattern & unruly hair.
sunday was that day.

lovey mushiness & wifey goodness.

p.s. before i say anything, send that blogger party link to all your blog buddies as well. seriously, it's just going to be a big blogger bash. we'll have holiday treats, a chocolate fountain, ridiculous wii games, and lots of picture taking. invite everyone.}

last night we were hungry at midnight, so we shared a costco dog.
for dinner, we made pot stickers & edamame {like, the only thing we eat ever} on our bed indian style.
love is so good.
we've also ripped off the heinous wallpaper in our dining area & put fake spider webs {complete with fake spiders} in our entry-way. we're scary.
lots of cuddling has ensued because we put the TV in the bedroom to escape the empy heat-sucking hole that is our living room.
sadly, though, our nightly rituals of office, scrubs, psych, new girl, & SNL catchups on Hulu have been forgotten because our upstairs neighbor cancelled the internet without telling us. we're working on it!
yesterday we gave talks in church, and i was so nervous that while we were eating breakfast i put the milk in the cupboard instead of the fridge. anyways, people came up to us afterwards {we're still new} and told us to expect Youth {YW/YM} callings soon. dude, that would be the COOLEST!
~
while nicky-face was at school today, i was a good wife.
pictures are taken, edited & off the camera.
the dog was played with.
the bed is made, the closet is organized, the laundry is sorted.
the floor is clean.
the power is out? {and we have 14 pounds of meat in the freezer?}
koda pooped in my hand on the way home from taking him to school.
i was all like:

this i what i get for waking up earlier than i want to just to drive my husband to class.
anyways.
not only is the room clean, but i put decorations up!
hand-made fall banner over the TV, picture frames, and leaf cutouts.
he's gonna be so 'xcited when he sees it!
we're planning on buying a bale of hay so our pumpkims can have a home in our entry way, otherwise koda is going to keep eating the ugly one.
so very, very excited for that moment.
tonight, hot cider and probably pot stickers again.
that boy of mine, he's a keeper.

we've got pumpkins!

remember that time i said we had pumpkins?
k.
wednesday i had to go to a training meeting at Lake Park instead of going to work.
i got to see my daddy, and i only worked from 8-4p that day,
so i got home early and went on a date with the most handsome man in the world!
{oh, and it was our 7 month anniversary. can you believe that??}
we went to schmidt's and got pumpkins!
i got one, nick got one, koda got one, we got a little one because it was so small, an ugly one because we felt bad for it, and a bunch of teeny tiny ones.
also, nick picked up some apples. of course.
we finished our date off by going to Hobby Lobby and getting halloween decorations all on sale,
as well as dinner at Texas Roadhouse.
i always get the ribs and the loaded sweet potato {mmm!}
then we went home and watched the original footloose.
we still don't have internet...
but we did go to costco today and got cinnamon rolls, pumpkin streusel muffins, & hot chocolate.
we're set.
 {also, i think i saw taylor and scott from when all is said and done in the lane next to us. even though i didn't say anything & just creepily watched them buy their food in bulk, i love it when i see blogger friends in real life!}
 and i had a big mac for the first time EVER {which i'm not going to recommend, like, gross.}
we played monopoly and nick won free fries, holla.
now we're at Jason's house writing talks because, guess what, we have to speak in church tomorrow.
i'll let you know how that one goes.
& i'm luh-HU-ving this gorgeous fall weather! thank you Utah for cooperating!

i'm going to be a princess for halloween. what are you going to be??

people who knit have higher life expectancies, i predict.

went to dillon and laura's wedding in the St. George Temple
& the reception later that night.
i made new friends with a mom, a baby, and a married couple.

played in St. George, almost bought long boards, oh and have you tried Nielsen's?
how about Nielsen's pumpkin concrete? we did. Nick did too much.

nick stopped the car and let me take pictures of this tractor.

it's become tradition to wear my own wedding shoes to other people's weddings.

we took Nick's neighbor's 4-wheelers for a picnic on top of a mountain
guys, i was born to live on that red contraption of death and awesomeness.

& this is my pretty niece Ivy.

nick and i decided to start our weekend off a little early.
i took work off friday so we could go to a wedding friday morning
(we have to be at the st. george temple at 10 a.m... and i'ts 2 a.m.)
so, as of now, we're just sitting here in cedar city,
playing on the internet and being the lazy responsible adults that we are
while koda runs around the room hiding, digging up, and re-hiding her bone she just got.
trust us. it's going to be such a good weekend.

p.s. will someone please re-do my blog for me?
i'm losing my mind.
p.s.s. please, for all that is good in this world, have the best weekend of your life!

my day at the dr.'s - hyperbole and a half style.

it was a beautiful monday morning.
the sun was shining, my hair looked like zooey deschanel's, and i had an eye doctor's appointment which meant... new glasses!

nick came with me as my support, and we checked in as usual.

first things first, the nurse checked my vision.

it turns out that my eyes are actually better than they were 6 years ago (who would have thought?) all was simple protocol until, out of nowhere, disaster happened.

"these drops are going to numb your eyes so we can check your eye pressure. it might sting a little."

oh, it hit me.
my eyes felt 6 bajillion times their size, and i couldn't take it. i got so dizzy & throw-uppy that i remember grabbing the nurse's arm and saying, "i may or may not pass out. hold on."

and that's exactly what happened.
of course, being unconscious, this is what i thought i looked like:

this is what i actually looked like:

when i finally came to, there was a glass of orange juice in my hand

and someone was touching my head.

it was my handsome nick. not only was he rubbing my head (the way i like it) but he had removed my jacket for me. apparently i had been sweating pretty bad... that sweetheart. then the dr. came in to check on me.

 "we didn't have a chance to check the pressure yet," says the nurse.

so they did it again!

when the nurse still couldn't get my eye pressure measured, they jammed a stick covered with numbing stuff into the bottom crease of my socket.

after the brief 2 seconds of "checking my eye pressure" she goes, "yay! the hard part's overrrr!" and doc came back in. i wasn't listening.

they dilated my eyes, and we ended up back in the waiting room.
the bright waiting room.
i slept on nick's shoulder & ate a watermelon dum-dum while simultaneously suppressing my urge to hurl all over the carpet.
an eternity later i was called back into office so he could check my glaucoma; only one of my eyes had dilated all the way.

he then handed me my prescription, a fake pair of terminator ray bans & a pat on the back.

we went to the mall and got real ray bans.

i'm never going back.
