Today i went to my OB/GYN (go me!)
i think we all know how i do around that place.
so before we went i had nick take me to chick-fil-a to get strips and a chocolate shake.
mmmmmm.
but, the reason i went to the dr's is because i got my birth control today.
it's called "implanon" and what they do is stick it under your skin in your arm
and you don't have periods.
and you don't get pregnant.
and it won't fall out.
and you don't have to remember to take the pill every day.
and it works for 3 years.
and it's completely covered by insurance.
isn't that awesome?
we think it's the bee's knees.
regardless of all the happy joyness that comes with it,
they had to put it in. gulp.
i really like my dr, i do, but needles and i just don't get along.
so she stuck me a bazillion times in the arm to numb me, and then put it in.
the whole time i'm thinking "inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale SLOWER inhale, exhale..."
and before i knew it she was done.
i tried to sit up afterwards and almost passed out (surprise?) ... so i lay down again.
it was nice, and the stars kept me company.
in anticipation of putting my jacket on to complete my ensemble, i pulled my scarf on but wanted nothing to do with putting anything on my arm. so i know that i look ridiculous, and that is fine.
as of right now,
my left arm has temporarily lost it's ability to function at full capacity
& i probably won't look at it for the next few days while the bruising subsides.
but i'm a happy camper.
nick and i finished off the evening with mango martinelli's, mac & cheese, and the Thanksgiving episode of New Girl.
life is really, really good.
